I have twenty-five years of experience in primary and tertiary settings. I’ve been a classroom teacher, a literacy co-ordinator, a learning support teacher, a university lecturer, and a teaching and learning consultant for a local education system.
I believe in creating a learning atmosphere that is deceptively calm and peaceful, with underlying energy and curiosity and intellectual rigour.
I have experience teaching the International Baccalaureate PYP, and particularly enjoy working in primary school settings where engagement is evident through inquiry and authentic experiences.
Guided and motivated by practical considerations relating to the needs of the school in which I work, I endeavour to extend understandings about research to realistic, in-classroom pedagogical practice that improves student outcomes.
I enjoy inquiring into critical pedagogical practices with my teacher colleagues, and stretching our beliefs about what works and what's possible. (Teachers may not enjoy this struggle as much as I!) Your team and I will explore, critique, and question our understandings.
